Description

Have you ever wanted to put pictures or logos on shirts, hats, key chains, mugs, or other items? Dye Sublimation is a great way to accomplish this. Makerspace members, come to this class to learn more about this cool technology, and get some hands on experience. I will be teaching you about the process, and eveyone that attends will leave with a shirt, coffee mug, and their choice of mousepad, hat or two coasters that they make themselves. Bring your own photos and/or logos for your items on a flash drive or other media. I will supply the blanks to be decorated.

You must be a member of the Dallas Makerspace to take this class, and use the equipment.

FAQs

Where can I contact the organizer with any questions?

You can reach me by email at cary@laserwonders.com or on DMS Talk as @CaryF300.

Is my registration/ticket transferrable?

Yes, but make sure you update the t-shirt size for the person who is coming to the class.

Can I update my registration information?

Yes, please make sure the t-shirt size is correct by 5pm on 5/19/2016. I will order the shirts based on the sizes requested at that time.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

Nope.

What is the refund policy?

As long is the refund is requested before the t-shirts are ordered, it is not a problem. After that time you can contact me to get a ticket to a subsequent class, or make arrangements for me to meet you at the Space one-on-one to go over everything.

The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?

That is fine. Just know that they will get the size t-shirt that you specify.

What size/format images do I need to bring?

For photographs, I prefer PNG files, but JPG files will work. For vector graphics, EPS, SVG, AI, PDF, CDR files are all useable. For the t-shirts the maximum image size is 8" by 10-1/2" at 150dpi, either portrait orientation or landscape orientation. This works out to an image that is 1200px by 1575px in size (about 2 megapixles) to have a good quality result. For the coffee mugs, a single logo or image that is about 3" square at 300dpi (900px square) will work, or you can take an image that is 8" wide by 4" tall at 300dpi (2400px by 1200px) and wrap it around the entire mug. The mug is about 3-1/2" tall, so the extra height of the image is to ensure that it gets all the way to the top and bottom. The mouse pads are 9-1/4" by 7-3/4", so if you want to totally cover it the image needs to be 9-1/2" by 8" at 150dpi (1425px by 1200px). The hats can be decorated with an image that is apporimately 4" by 2-1/2" at 150dpi (600px by 375px). The coasters are 3-3/4" in diameter, so to fully cover one you want an image that is 4" in diameter at 300dpi (1200px in diameter).
